Beauty technology has developed at remarkable speed, and the Universal Beauty Awards 2025 made that particularly clear. Devices this year were not just tools, but intelligent beauty companions designed for real-world habits. From cleansing devices that warm to the touch, to LED masks that bring spa-level treatment into the living room, judging this category highlighted the direction the industry is moving toward. Below is a closer look at some of the standout winners that captured judges’ attention for usability, innovation and visible results.

Cleansing & Facial Devices

One of the most discussed entries in the judging room was Beautifect The HeatSonic Cleansing Device, which took the top position in this category. Heat and sonic vibration are often paired in professional treatments, but rarely with this level of refinement in a handheld tool. Judges noted how effectively it lifted daily buildup without leaving the skin stripped. It demonstrated how at-home cleansing technology is evolving beyond simple oscillating brushes, favouring comfort, gentle exfoliation and barrier awareness.

Anti-ageing devices were another competitive space. OPATRA London’s Opatra Pulse received strong feedback for its ergonomic design, making it easy to incorporate into nightly routine without feeling like a chore. FOREO Bear 2, awarded silver in the same category, impressed with microcurrent strength in a compact format. Both devices reflect a wider shift toward non-invasive toning tools as consumers look for maintenance-focused home alternatives between treatments.

LED Technology & Light Therapy

LED continued to dominate the device landscape in 2025. BON CHARGE Red Light Face Mask led its category for coverage distribution and overall comfort, an area where many masks still struggle. A number of judges commented on how wearable it felt over longer sessions. Maskology Photon LED Therapy Mask, with customisable settings, also performed well. Light masks are no longer novelty gadgets, but increasingly credible skincare investments, supported by active wavelengths and results some users previously only accessed in clinic.

Dental Care & Personal Care Devices

Electrical dental devices entered with strength this year, showing how beauty now extends beyond skin and hair into total personal care. Spotlight Oral Care Sonic Pro Electric Toothbrush secured the category win for its balance of intensity and accessibility, proving a professional finish does not have to feel clinical.

Hair Tools: Styling, Drying and Innovation

Hair technology was one of the most dynamic judging sections this year. Cloud Nine’s Airshot Pro took the lead in hair dryers for its controlled airflow and performance styling results. Voduz Blow Out Pro also scored positively for salon-feel finish, reflecting consumer demand for frizz control and drying speed rather than raw heat.

Versatility mattered in styling tools. Amory London Cool Glide earned gold for its cooling technology that reduced snag and heat fatigue, a feature that set it apart during testing. Cloud Nine The 2-in-1 Contouring Iron Pro continued the theme of multi-purpose functionality, followed closely by Quo Beauty 2-in-1 Interchangeable Styler, which appealed for travel-friendly adaptability.

Curls and texture-focused devices also received strong entries. Bellissima Diffon Supreme excelled for diffused curl definition, while Revamp Dynamic Radiance Pro Blow Dry 7-in-1 Ionic Air Styler impressed judges looking for a complete styling solution in one device. Meanwhile, Amory London The Mayfair Set, winner for Best Electric Hair Curler, demonstrated how interchangeable attachments continue to shape consumer buying behaviour.

In beauty gadgets, FOREO Bear 2 appeared again, reinforcing its reputation for microcurrent expertise, while Opatra CleoLips and Bon Charge Red Light Face Wand stood out as targeted tools that support specific routines rather than replacing them. Maskology Skin and Scalp Analysis Device was highly commended for recognising a growing market in diagnostic beauty, something we expect to rise in upcoming award seasons.

Technology in the beauty sector is no longer an accessory to skincare and haircare, it is increasingly central to how consumers treat and maintain results at home. The Universal Beauty Awards 2025 device entries reaffirm that devices today must prove value through real performance, not just novelty. As we look ahead to the 2026 awards, we anticipate a continued rise in dual-use tools, scalp and skin health analysis hardware and more clinically inspired home devices.
