Winners announcement for the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards
We are all super excited here today because today the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards have just been announced! Our awards celebrate green and clean brands - brands which are eco-friendly and which make a real effort to minimise any negative impacts on the environment that their business might have. We had over 400 entries into these awards, such a fantastic sign that the environment means so much to so many fantastic companies! The categories are for vegan, natural, clean, ethical, or with green packaging. You can read the full list of winners from the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards in our online magazine here.
In today’s blog I’d like to take a closer look at three of the biggest names in the industry.
The first is Molton Brown whose Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel Refillable Glass Bottle took GOLD for Best Zero Waste Beauty Product. Molton Brown has also been one of my personal favourite larger brands. Their shop on Windsor High Street always had the most beautiful aromas and wonderful window displays as well as fantastic staff. As such, there are always some bottles of their bath and body wash in my bathroom. Founded in London in 1971, Molton Brown products have always been made in England and the ethos has always been around quality, individuality and the world around us
“There was this feeling of care. That’s really been the essence of what Molton Brown stood for and why the products developed.” Caroline Burstein, Co-founder and friend of the brand today.
This overarching value of care, for staff, customers and the world around us has led to them taking Gold for their Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel Refillable Glass Bottle. The refill pouches boast 80% less plastic use compared to two standard 300ml bottles as well as being Vegan friendly and cruelty free.
weDo/ Professional took Silver for best ethical beauty product and their No Plastic Shampoo. The brand was born from the idea of a small team within Wella who wanted to create a new product which would be eco-ethical, natural and Vegan Society Certified. Their mission was to “help people transition to a happier, healthier, & more sustainable lifestyle through acts, not words”.
L'OCCITANE took SILVER with their Intensive Intensive Repair Solid Shampoo for the Best sustainable beauty product award. This Natural Beauty brand from the South of France has a strong commitment towards nature and makes sure that they work with suppliers who share their values. In fact, every single drop of their organic immortelle essential oil can be traced to local farmers in Corsica. Other causes supported by L’OCCITANE include planting 15,00 almond trees and producing environmentally-friendly Shea Butter. In fact, they have provided business development training to 10,000 women in Burkina Faso, West Africa who produce this product.
Preventable blindness is also something very close to their hearts and may of their best-selling products are packaged with braille.
So, there we have some of the larger brands who were winners at the Global Green Beauty Awards!
In the next blog we’ll focus on some of the Italian winners!
Ciao a tutti!
Welcome to another blog from us at the Global Makeup Awards and the Global Green Beauty Awards. Entries are currently open for the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards and we are feeling nostalgic about all of last year's incredible green and clean beauty brands who entered last year's awards. So, today we’d like again to shine a spotlight on some of last year’s Global Green Beauty Awards winners for their green beauty products from 2020.
Last time I mentioned that Deardot were joint Gold winners for Best Ethical Beauty Products in the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards. Let’s look at their story and how they strive to make a positive difference with their company.
Based in Korea, Deardot aims to produce vegan-friendly, minimalist and environmentally-friendly skincare products. The company is famous for their dedication to preserving the dangyuja fruit, a rare citrus fruit which only grows on Jeju Island, a province of South Korea
Deardot use beautiful yet environmentally friendly packaging for all their products, using eco-friendly cardboard which resemble vintage cardboard boxes, they really are a stylish way to present their skincare products. Furthermore, Deardot’s sparkling clean powder is packaged in biodegradable material which fully decomposes within six months.
Another company which fared well in last year’s 2020 Green Global Beauty Awards was the fantastic bareMinerals. They went home with the following awards:
BEST VEGAN MAKEUP PRODUCT GOLD WINNER
Original Foundation SPF15
BEST VEGAN SKINCARE PRODUCT SILVER WINNER
Skinlongevity Vital Power Serum
Founded in 1995, bareMinerals has shown a strong commitment to clean beauty and ethically created makeup and skincare products from the very beginning. They are careful to avoid strong chemicals and any unnecessary additives, instead sourcing their ingredients from natural minerals and botanical extracts. They are proudly 100% cruelty free and boast a collection of 100% vegan beauty cleansers, moisturisers and treatments
Monpure won two gold awards at last years green beauty awards -
BEST VEGAN HAIR PRODUCT GOLD WINNER -
Nourish and Stimulate Scalp Mask
BEST SUSTAINABLE HAIR PRODUCT GOLD WINNER -
Monpure London Clarifying Scalp Scrub
Monpure have not only identified poor scalp care as being a cause of unhealthy hair but they’ve also created the perfect products for gently and kindly treating the scalp, all the while maintaining a focus on ethically sourced , natural ingredients and eco-friendly packaging. They are careful to avoid sulphates, silicone and other harsh ingredients while demonstrating a consistently vegan-friendly and cruelty free approach to all their processes. Not only that, they also fussily hand-pick only suppliers who match their own high ethical standards.
So, as you can see, it's really exciting for us to be able to promote the work of these previous winners .Their dedication to clean beauty and green beauty products really is an inspiration. If you know any companies who also show a strong commitment to green beauty, please do let them know that entries for the Global Green Beauty Awards 2021 close May 30th 2021.
Thanks again for joining us for a closer look at last year’s winners. We can’t wait to repeat the fun we had last year and are looking forward to a future where all companies take the lead from our winners and devote themselves as much to the planet as they do their products!

In this blog I would like to shine a Spotlight on 2020 Winners of the Global Green Beauty Awards.
But, before I do. Here are some key dates for your diaries regarding this year’s awards!
May 30th 2021 - Awards entries close
The 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards are open, but i thought it would be nice if we look back at last year's winners. Some great ethical brands in a sea of quality competition all striving to be more green and clean in the beauty industry.
Here are all the winners from last year. https://www.globalmakeupawards.com/2020-global-green-beauty-awards.html#/
Last year two amazing products shared the Gold Award for The Best Ethical Beauty Product .
The first was Dr. PAWPAW for their Scrub and Nourish Lip Scrub and Lip Balm duo. This vegan product comes in beautiful and eye-catching packaging (100% recyclable with recycling instructions, naturally) and is multi-use as it can also be used on hands, heels and elsewhere to treat dry skin and flakey dry patches.
Dr. PAWPAW’S story began in 2013 when married couple Johnnie and Pauline found out that their little girl was suffering from eczema. At this point, unable to find a cream without steroids to treat her, they decided to create alternative natural solution themselves. The team has a strong sense of values and all their products, which are stocked all over the world, are animal cruelty-free and certified by PETA.
Dr. PAWPAW shared their award with Deardot, Yuja Cleansing Seal but we’ll talk more about their story another time because at this moment, I want to tell you about Nu Skin's new nutricentials range.
Nu Skin’s Nutricentials® Bioadaptive Skin Care™ is an innovative range of skin care essentials produced from carefully selected ingredients and clean formulas which look after the your skin as well as our planet. The collection features products in such categories as: cleansers, toners, serums, moisturizers, exfoliators and masks with blends of bioadaptive botanicals that help skin adapt to its ever-changing environment.
Nu-skin have shared a useful skincare routine, using Nutricentials. Follow this link for the full routine.
Finally, I want to tell you about a cult classic, Liz Earle's hot polish cleanser (this renowned product won a gold in the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards).
This marvelous cleanser is made with cocoa butter which softens and moisturises, and also includes rosemary, chamomile and eucalyptus which help to purify and soothe skin. This cream not only cleanses and removes daily grime but can also be used on mascara.
It is recommended to use the cream with a pure cotton cloth to exfoliate and reveal brighter, healthier skin.
So there we have three wonderful products from brands that really do care about creating green products. Do check them out if you haven’t already!
We’ll be back soon with another showcase of more winners from last year’s awards.
All the best
Dan and the rest of the Global Green Beauty Awards team
The 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards are open!
Have you entered your brand yet? Please make a note of these key dates!
May 30th 2021 - Awards entries close
July 15th 2021 - Winners Announced Online
Good morning everybody!
It's Dan here and I'm writing from sunny Italy, where I live. Spring has arrived here in Italy and that has definitely changed my mood and it seems the mood of the people around too. Everyone seems a lot happier and I can see the ‘spring’ in people’s steps and the sparkles in their eyes when they say hello.
I am excited about this and for a couple of other reasons too! Firstly, my tortoise woke up from hibernation yesterday, I miss his little face over the winter months and I am always a bit worried about him and hoping that he’s OK in his little hole that he digs under the Tea Olive Shrub (this has the most wonderful fragrance every September) and that he doesn’t get too cold.
I am also very excited to remind you that this year’s Global Green Beauty Awards are now OPEN!
We had a wonderful time doing these awards last year and we can’t wait to do it again! The Global Green Beauty Awards are very close to our hearts as we are passionate about protecting the beautiful world around us and inspiring beauty brands to take that step to becoming greener, cleaner and more eco friendly.
Last year we worked with lots of inspiring companies who work so hard to create top-quality beauty products while endeavouring to minimise their effects on the environment though carefully selecting packaging (or lack thereof!), ingredients, suppliers and even distributors. It is clear that these companies are not just paying lip-service to the idea of being environmentally friendly because it looks good.
Additionally, we also have categories for vegan friendly products. We understand how important vegan friendly products are to customers for a whole host of different reasons including but not limited to animal cruelty, ethics, health and religious reasons.
We understand that it is not easy at all for companies to create beauty products to high standards and remain viable, financially it can be much more difficult to create green products and of course retail price is always a big consideration when choosing how to market products. But the work these companies do is so, so important and we feel it’s essential that they are recognised for these efforts!
From a customer’s point of view, it can be very confusing when trying to purchase ethically produced, environmentally friendly products. Unfortunately, there are more than a few businesses out there that are looking to exploit people’s values and misrepresent their efforts to be ‘green’, ultimately misleading people. That’s another reason why we care so much about the backstory of entrants, we really gain a sound understanding of companies' raison d’etre and it becomes clear which are authentic and which are not. The Global Green Beauty Awards are a way to communicate that authenticity to customers who want to be sure about the purchases they make!
So, if you haven’t already entered, please do get involved with this year’s Global Green Beauty Awards! We can’t wait to work with you!
Until next time!
