Happy New Year everybody. Have you made any resolutions yet?
Well it’s not too late to add another to list, something a little more special and exciting than joining the gym or reducing time wasted on your phone! How about winning an award for your make-up company? That would be a highlight you could really look back on when you’re reviewing your achievements as we approach next Christmas (I know, I know, sorry! Too soon!). It’s true though, as not only would the glory of winning an award be a wonderful feeling of recognition, the additional social media marketing and exposure would further propel your product into the orbit of discerning consumers.
Furthermore, a shiny trophy adorning your offices makes a great talking point and an inspiration to continue your great work!
Here at the UK Global Makeup Awards we had a fantastic 2019. Our job really is great; we have the
privilege of trying, testing and reviewing the best products on the market and discovering all the
newest products and companies. Last year we were hugely impressed with all the companies who
entered the awards, but we feel that in 2020 the standards are going to be even higher!
So, we are excited to announce that the 2020 Global Makeup Awards are now OPEN! YAY! Don’t

A winner’s award is a great sign for customers who have a difficult choice to make when facing
which products to spend their hard-earned money on. Choosing which make-up product to buy
when there seems to be an ocean of choice can be an overwhelming experience. Thankfully, a
trusted award goes a long way and can make all the difference to sales.
As for the companies themselves, they benefit from wide-exposure and recognition from within the
industry. Finding material to use for social media marketing can often be difficult and time-
consuming. Winning an award, however, provides a wealth of material which can be used over the
course of a year. Photos of the trophy, photos of staff with the trophy etc. and naturally there are
the shares and retweets.
All brands are welcome to participate. Both large and small companies have reaped great rewards
from getting involved while consumers appreciate the low-down on all the latest beauty trends.
Products are reviewed by a panel of judges on their efficacy, value and quality. The judging process
is extremely intense, and your products will be thoroughly analysed and reviewed. That’s not to say
its an entirely unpleasant experience for our experienced judges, they love their work, but they do
have the highest of standards and expectations.
So, if one of your goals this year is to win an award for your work, go ahead and get involved with
our awards. Nothing will round off the year better than the whole team being able to share in a
prestigious win, a definite marker to further build upon.

results of the 2019 Scandinavian Global Makeup Awards.
Finally, we can announce the winners of the 2019 Awards bur before we tell you who they are we’d
just like to say a big thank you to all the companies who entered. The competition was fierce and it’s
just wonderful to see the benchmarks continually being raised. We’re grateful to have access to the
wide range of quality products on offer from companies in the beauty industry and we all appreciate
the progress and developments made over the last year.

Despite very different approaches and backgrounds, the duo have identified their mutual passions
and inspirations which are drawn from their Scandinavian roots.
Our second Editor's Choice Gold Winner was THE PERFECT V for the Vanicure Essentials Kit (Gentle
Wash + Gentle Exfoliator + VV Cream + VV Beauty Sheet).
The Perfect V was founded by AVONDA NELSON URBEN who six years ago left the chaotic New Yorkscene to set up home and business just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark.
A massive congratulations to all the Gold and Silver Award winners. Not only are your products
game-changers but you are playing a key role in driving the industry forward as a whole. Our judges
had a hard time picking winners and spent hours and hours testing and reviewing all the products in
each category, but they are all satisfied with their final choices and pleased to have played their part
in the awards process.
To enter these awards, the products needed to be Scandinavian Beauty Products and available to
buy in Scandinavia or be from brands or products originating in Scandinavia.

The 2019 Scandinavian Global Makeup Awards will be announced on 10th December!
December is an exciting month, we’re all looking forward to Christmas, presents, delicious food and
seeing our families and friends. What else could we possibly want? Well, for those who work in the
make-up industry, an award to acknowledge all the passion, effort and creativity they have put in to
driving forward their products would be a nice cherry on the top after a hard year!
Additionally, for millions of customers around the world, a stamp of approval on a product which
confirms its quality and value is a very useful tool when faced with a myriad of options! In a world
where it can be hard to know which the best option is, an award from a trusted source makes things
just a little but easier. Judges at The Global Makeup Awards have decades of experience in the
industry and know everything there is to know about what makes a great product!
It’s also been a busy twelve months for us, and we are also looking forward to finishing the year with
a bang! 2019 has brought a record number of entries, and we can safely say that the bar continues
to rise. The competition has been strong, and it warms our hearts to see the advances made in the
Makeup products are continuously developing, improving and adapting in an ever-changing industry.
This can’t happen without a lot of blood, sweat and tears behind the scenes. As we near the holiday
period and a well-earned chance to relax and re-charge it is time to assess the year’s achievements
and to recognise the passion and exertion that has been involved in creating amazing new products
that satisfy the highest of expectations in a fast-paced world.
Picking the winners has been a difficult task and our six judges have meticulously analysed every
product entered into the competition, ensuring that every entry has been scrutinised and tested.
They have had the pleasure of testing a wide range of quality makeup products from a number of
brands but then been faced with the arduous task of scoring and ranking the products.
Now, the time is here to announce the results, and, on the 10th December, we will name the
winners of the Gold and Silver awards.

approached their roles with enthusiasm, professionalism and diligence.
We’re starting the festive season on a high, who will be a winner this year? Not only does a win
reward the company and employees with recognition of their efforts but they will receive added
promotion and exciting content on social media and improve their SEO. The Scandinavian Global
Makeup Awards certificate looks great in the office and the logo makes an eye-catching and
attractive addition to your website and promotional material. As a wise woman once sang – “All I
Want for Christmas is a Scandinavian Global Makeup Award”, who will be crowned winner this year?
It's been a glorious July and so the team at the Global Makeup Awards thought we would go for a team day. Nothing brings about brainstorming of ideas like sitting in a beautiful summer garden in the rolling countryside. So we booked a luxury country house in the lovely countryside of Oxfordshire. We were taken by the friendly drivers from Sprinters Travel who took our whole group there from Marlow in a stylish Mercedes minibus which the whole girl gang loved!
The group was travelling from across areas like Windsor, Marlow and London, so we thought Oxfordshire was the perfect place to unwind, relax and brainstorm our big projects for 2020. We are currently open with the Scandinavian Global Makeup Awards but we still have big and huge things to make nexts years awards even bigger. So many beauty, cosmetics and makeup brands participated in the Global Makeup Awards this year, so we wanted to see what we can do to make next year even more awesome.
We want to celebrate even more winners, so we will be adding 'commended' winners to our list for those brands who don't place first or second place but still deserve a mention. We will also revisit our categories - there's big things out there in the world of hand and nail care and we want to recognise that. Our perspex trophies were also a huge success so we want to continue with our makeup awards trophies next year and continue with their beautiful style.
Over a glass of two of bubbling prosecco, the girls in the team had even more ideas. We want to see more GMA branding, more stamps, more compliment slips, more boxes and more work on social media. So be prepared to see our Global Makeup Awards logo take over next year in the 2020s. Next years awards will be bigger and better as we take the cosmetics and makeup side of the awards by storm! There are so many makeup brands that are out there ant nor recognised enough, so we want more and more brands to be participating! We absolutely cannot wait!
The team also love anything a bit fancy, so we will putting in a few luxury categories next year to find out the creme of the creme beauty and cosmetics products. As we only look at newly launched products each year it means consumers will know the hottest makeup products around, and to win a luxury category will really mean something for the big brands.
Galas in London?
Something really huge which the team is keen to move forwards with is an awards gala ceremony in a nice hotel in central London. We think it is important to recognise the winners of the global makeup awards in style, so this is a goal we want to work towards in the coming years. The Global Makeup Awards had its inaugural opening in 2019, so we still need to grow a little bit as a brand in order to hold a large gala. A gala is absolutely our end goad as it will truly celebrate the brands in style and show our awards off as the top makeup awards globally! We would like to then introduce this in Stockholm or Denmark as well as in New York.
We had many requests this year already to hold a gala to celebrate the beauty awards but it was not somewhere where we were at yet. However, keep an eye out as this is something we will be wanting to bring out in the near future. Anything glam is always on the teams agenda at the GMAs. So with a gala it will be a really opportunity for all to really show off the best makeup and cosmetics by having the brand partners showing up wearing their best and newly launched makeup and beauty products!
After a great day of team building and brainstorming in the sun, it was time for us to jump on our luxury minibus by Sprinters Travel and to travel back home in style. What a truly great day spent with excellent people planning big things for the GMA's next year!

It makes us burst with pride to see that the UK 2019 Global Makeup Awards is featured by none other than Noughty! It is so great for brands to be promoting their win and we couldn't be prouder to see our logo on their website. We know consumers can't wait to see what the hottest products of 2019 are, and our logo is a great way of guiding them!
Noughty came second, silver place, in the Global Makeup Awards for the cateogry of Best Shampoo/ Conditioner. This was with their product - To the Rescue Intense Moisture Hair Treatment which has an RRP of £8.99. This hair treatment is made specifically for dry and damaged hair. It is 97% natural too (hence the funky name of noughty - as the idea is without horrible extra chemicals.) It is packed with sweet almond and black oat extracts which makes it a great super quenching treatment. This product will help you hydrate, restructure and transform hair in distress.
This rescue remedy smells deliciously of vanilla and works on even the most stubborn, frizz and dry hair. For best results, wash, put in and wrap in clingfilm. It can be used as an intense treatment by leaving it on the hair a little longer. Our judges were truly wowed and can't recommend this glorious product enough.

With 40 categories, and both gold and silver winners with each category, - we have 80 winners in the UK Global Makeup Awards 2019. We've seen some great ways to publicise the wins, so we thought we would share some ideas with you in case you're wondering how to make the most out of your 2019 Global Makeup Award win.

We love the look of Yardley London's social media posts. They have used the stunning floral design from their Flowerful Collection to create a summery border. In the post is their Gold award winning product - Luxe Gardenia Eau de Toilette. They have also inserted into this create social media post their gold winners badge from the Global Makeup Awards 2019. We love the final look of this post as it suits the beautiful June weather which is the month their award was won in. It matches the beautiful name of their collection - the Flowerful collection and is a great way to grab attention on social media. What a creative post from argentum apothecary! We absolutely adore the art work which is in keeping with their band style. An extremely innovative and creative way to promote their three wins for Best Luxury Brand, Best Packaging and Best Cleanser. We really do adore what they have done with their win as it makes it look like a burst of sunshine with the hands beautiful cupping the awards logo. This post is really so creative, this really does deserve some gold stars for their innovation and creativity to make something so beautiful to promote their win. The mix of black and white contrasting against the colour of the logo is stunning. Thank you argentum apothecary for not only your award winning beauty products, but also your innovation and style in promoting them!

Global Makeup Awards looks at Lush's new flagship Liverpool store
Bath bomb beauty bananza Lush has opened its biggest doors yet. After last year's marketing scandal of their 'anti spy cops campaign' the brand has recovered well. They have looked at revolutionising beauty spaces to create a whole experience when entering their new flagship store.
Lush have just opened their flagship store in Liverpool. It is truly huge at a massive 1380sq metres, not only is it on three floors (one of which is entirely dedicated to its own in-house spa) but it is also manned by 167 staff members.
Playing to their strengths, which is environment first, this is even replicated in their coffee bar. With plant based milks only, Lush is hot on the veganism trend as their coffee and their beauty products are of course against cruelty to animals. Their coffee is 100% vegan and their cafe is also against single use plastic. Furthermore, all their products are completely sourced in the UK to cut down their carbon footprint - so be sure to bring along your reusable flask the next time you pop to Liverpool!
Their flagship Lush store also comes complete with its own hair salon 'Lush HairLab'. This is their first hair salon and comes stocked with 50 unique hair products from Lush. Moving away from the toxicity of hair dye - this lush salon offers Henna alternatives as well as of course hair cuts, treatments and blowouts. Who knows, maybe lush will enter one of their new makeup, beauty or haircare products in the Global Makeup Awards this year as we look at all the latest products launches from the last year from the beauty industry. Our beauty and makeup awards would be delighted to have a to luxury beauty brand apply and nominate their products ready for review by our team of professional judges for review.
Physically, the open plan store is stunning - with products laid out in a way that you will want to snap it for your instagram, but also because of the floral arrangements throughout the store. In fact, it even houses its own in house florists so you can buy some plants to take home with you. Just like the coffee, all the plants are sourced from the UK. Offering seasonal bouquets, it makes for a unique purchase at the new Lush store.
Lastly, with a whole floors dedicated to a spa this is something to definitely enjoy. It is the 8th of Lush's Spas, but this one is even designed to host parties! Or else, book your self in for a relaxing massage to take the edge off shopping.
