It's not that often that Urban Decay drops a new palette. Each palette has it's own unique identity, and the 12 colours always sit in perfect harmony together. The mix of matts and glitters, from dark to light and always with a unique personality - smokey, or pinks or nudes.
Urban Decay has announced the new palette which will be launched is called the Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette. It's priced at £38 and will be available from Urban Decay from 17th February 2019. If you're eager to be one of the first to try it then you can sign up to be first on the list - just go through their early bird registration site here.
The reason why this launch is a big deal, is that somewhat controversially, it will be replacing the original Naked Palette. A bold move as this original product really put Urban Decay on the map with its range of palettes. Secondly, the news of this launch is also a big deal, as the 12 shades are all New!. That's right - in a move away from the norm where UD often puts in a few of its best selling single shades, all 12 are new and improved. Even the formatting of the product in the pan is new. As you can see in the picture the 4 outer pans on each side are bigger with the shades they think you'll use the most.
If they are the shades that people will use the most then that is a great move in the world of the palette. No one likes seeing their palette with one sad, empty pan which is where their favourite colour once stood. However, getting it right, especially with all new shades, seems a hard game to gauge. It could backfire that you end up with four large pans of product you don't use, so lets see how this palette stands the test of time. Especially as it replaces the original, much loved naked palette.
The colours are neutral with some beautiful peach hues. There is a heavy emphasis on beiges and browns after those peaches though including quite a few darker and more metallic shades. The palette has definitely been re-loaded, but here at the Global Makeup Awards part of us questions the age old question 'if it ain't broke, why fix it?'. But we will give it a chance with a review from one of beauty testers coming up soon.
