Global makeup awards and global green beauty awards makeup news flash, blog for the global makeup awards and global green beauty awards, news, cosmetics news, blog
How are you all? Has spring arrived for you? I don’t want to boast but it's lovely here (Lake Garda, Italy!) I look forward to spring so much and it really makes me happy when the weather gets warmer, the daffs appear and the blossom starts making its presence known! My neighbours are worried about the lack of rain in recent months and they say that we’ll probably pay for that with a wet summer but I’m feeling positive!
It’s been a little while since my last post so I’m excited to bring you lots of big Global Makeup Awards news.
First of all, I should let you know that entries have now closed at the 2022 Global Makeup Awards for the regions of the UK, USA and ASIA. We've seen a record number of brands enter, it’s so exciting to be working with familiar brands as well as new ones so that’s kept us busy over the winter! I have to say that there are really strong entries across the board - this year is going to be really tricky for the judges
There are a lot of great benefits to winning these awards though, not only does it increase credibility and provide great recognition of your hard work but in addition there is exposure in our e-magazine, a beautifully printed certificate and an online winners logo that really catches the eye!
It's exciting to see how the awards are now really global - we have our newest regions Asia and USA which are growing each year. Asia is now in its 2nd year and USA regions are now in their 3rd year. It's great to see our beauty awards expands through the different regions throughout the world.
Last year was a huge year where I blogged about lots of different great winners - as you probably noticed, I love digging into the stories behind the brands. I want to know why they exist, who are the human’s behind the brands and what their motivations for starting their own business are. It quickly becomes apparent that financial reasons are not behind the companies’ formation but a genuine passion for quality beauty products and a huge sense of reward in helping others. It’s probably also apparent that I do have a strong sense of gratitude to the brands which work tirelessly to make their products ethically and I really appreciate the lengths they go to to use natural ingredients, avoid animal-testing and support local economies. The Scandinavian brands have really been forerunners when it comes to ethical-business practice but I’m delighted to see their techniques being replicated all over the world. You guys are all really making a difference and I think our industry is now one of the best there is and a model for other industries to follow. We’ve seen really dramatic changes to practices and expectations over the last decades!
Anyway! I have a few more blogs planned over the coming weeks so I’ll be back very soon with more big news as well as some spotlights on some of my favourite recent winning brands!
As ever, ciao for now!
Award winning American Beauty brands from the American Beauty Awards
Hi again everybody.
Dan here! We are absolutely delighted to announce the winners from the USA 2021 Global Makeup Awards. To see the full list of winners please check our magazine or visit our website here.
In the meantime, I would like to share a little more from behind the scenes of some of the winners.
First of all we have Pickle’s Potions who were the BEST CLEANSER GOLD WINNER
with their Strawberry smoothie cleansing balm as well as BEST EYE CREAM GOLD WINNER for their Raspberry Eye Gel. They also took SILVER for their Chai tinted lip butter in the BEST LIP PRODUCT category.
Devoted to #CleanBeauty this company pledges to only use 100% natural ingredients and avoids chemicals, artificial fragrances and colours, and of of course says no to animal testing. Before starting the Pickle’s Potions, their founder Kristin Mutchler was a self-confessed “skincare junkie” and amassed a wide range of different products for different situations. One day, while assessing the ingredients of the products which she had bought she realised that she did not know much about all the different chemicals and ingredients which she was using on herself! Her baby daughter also suffered from skin problems and needed skincare products to help, a doctor once prescribed a cream which included steroids, something that Kristin really didn't want to use on her baby’s skin!
So, she was inspired to set up Pickle’s Potions, where the products are clean, natural and safe for babies (and adults). I love Kristin’s story behind her products (it's clear how much the brand means to her), so please check out some of her wonderful products!
Another super brand which was recognised at the USA 2021 Global Makeup Awards was Organic Works. They were BEST NIGHT CREAM GOLD WINNER - for their Renewal Night Cream and were also voted BEST VEGAN BEAUTY BRAND GOLD WINNER.
While it’s great that there so many new companies championing #CleanBeauty, Organic Works are old hands, having been founded 50 years ago. They describe themselves as a clean, green, vegan, cruelty free, brand and don’t believe that natural beauty should be at the sacrifice of standards, quality or results! They also understand the strong correlation between Clean Beauty and Green Beauty, demonstrating a sound understanding of their customers and a commitment to listening to them. It is not surprising then that they have recently adopted business practices which ensure that ingredients are traceable, sustainably sourced and that packaging is minimised and recyclable
Finally, let’s take a quick look at BEST MASCARA GOLD WINNER, which was Dome Beauty with their Magnetic Mascara.
Founder, Mar Callone grew up in a diverse family environment and incorporates a 360° beauty concept into the company, a story which started with a commitment to clean living, natural ingredients and a love for animals and our environment. As a consequence, DOME BEAUTY products are made with clean ingredients and we can be confident that all packaging is recyclable and carefully chosen.
So, there we have some great brands whose fantastic work was recognised at the recent USA Beauty Awards.
In the next blogs we’ll look at the upcoming Scandinavian Global Makeup Awards which are now open!
Until then, ciao for now!
There is just one month left to enter the 2020 USA Global Makeup Awards.
This is our inaugural launch for the USA and we know it is going to be just as big as the UK Global Makeup Awards was.
It made sense to expand our awards to different regions across the globe, There are so many brands out there, and for America all the more so, there are so many great MADE IN THE USA brands! So it is time to celebrate them.
Beauty Awards in the USA
Beauty Awards are a big thing in the UK. In fact there are a tonne of them. We love to celebrate the best of the best new launches and consumers are always looking to find what is the hottest on trend beauty product on the market right now. But when you look to the USA, things have gone a bit quieter on the beauty awards and makeup awards front? There are the odd awards by magazines but not many awards that we can see which are independently judged and adjudicated by a team of beauty experts. For two countries with not only a shared language, but also a shared love of beauty products this seems to not align correctly. So we are delighted that the Global Makeup Awards has branched out and created an awards, just for America.
Products need to be available to purchase in America either by post or in shop in order to enter these awards. American beauty products are a huge thing. In fact - even Cosmo did an article for UK residents on what beauty products to buy in America if they are visiting there as not all are available to buy in the UK, making some products a bit like cult classics....especially when shopping in the famous ULTA and Sephora. I mean, some people even pack an extra suitcase when travelling to the USA just for beauty buys... oh and some Hershey's chocolate. In fact, in America, these are called the MVP Beauty Players - or in other words, the Most Valuable Player beauty brands.
Did you know Glossier (it's only been around since 2014 can you believe it!?) Drunk Elephant and CoverGirl were all American beauty brands? That's right. Some more hot American beauty brands out there right now and perhaps a little lesser known in the UK are BeautyCounter's tinted moisturizer, and RMS beauty un-coverup.
We've all heard of Kylie cosmetics here in the UK and we are hoping they will be entering the 2020 USA Global Makeup Awards. We'd love to try their Stormi palette with its unique periwinkle shade and beautiful butterfly packaging. Let's see how it rates against the other big palette players like Urban Decay's Naked palette. The Kylie Cosmetics brand was made famous by the Kylie Lip Kit - which sold both a lippie and a pencil for $36.
There is also Milk Makeup out there, which is an American brand from New York. They don't currently ship internationally which means it's time to book a flight and a suitcase if you want to get your hands on their Matcha stick cleanser.
Our 2020 USA Global Makeup Awards close in just one month. That's not much time to get entries in and we can't wait to see which hot hot hot products will be entering this year. We are of course looking for the best of new launches and are so excited to see who the winners will be in this year's American beauty awards.
Anywho, we will be announcing the winners for the USA Global Makeup Awards on 10th September - so keep an eye out - it's going to be one to watch if you want to keep up to date on the hottest beauty trends on the other side of the pond
The Global Makeup Awards team xx

We are ecstatic to announce the launch of the USA 2020 Global Makeup Awards. We had over 350 entrants for the UK awards, and we are sure we are going to beat this record with the USA.
The USA is the global leader in beauty and cosmetics which means we can't wait to see their hottest launches for 2020. We were so excited to go to the North America, Las Vegas COSMOPROF beauty event this year, which has been postponed. It typically attracts over 40,000 guests which is quite incredible. They are hoping their June dates will now be in September but due to the coronavirus outbreak this might be postponed again. Let's wait and see!
Regardless of Las Vegas Cosmoprof, we will be going ahead with the USA 2020 Global Makeup Awards. We have some key dates for your calender so be sure to put down the following for our beauty awards:
USA 2020 GLOBAL MAKEUP AWARDS.
June 1st 2020 - Awards open for entries
August 1st 2020 - Awards entries close
August 10th 2020 - Last submission of product samples
September 10th 2020 - Winners Announced Online
To enter the awards we are looking only for the newest and freshest beauty products - so we are looking for products launched after January 2018 only. We require 6 x product samples which will be judged by our panel of judges. Please note that for shipping from the USA to the UK you will need to fill our the appropriate customs label! We have categories for makeup, skincare, body care, haircare innovation and more, so have a look at our USA 2020 Global Makeup Awards product categories list which is available to view now. The product entry page will be open from June 1st when the awards go live for entries.
From big to Indy brands, we have seen that everyone is in for a chance to win with our beauty awards. Winners will receive a paper certificate and an online winners badge for their gold, silver or bronze wins in the awards. Online they will also get a back link direct to their website and gold winners will also have a free image on our website to enhance their win.
If, however, green and clean is more your thing, then why not look into our Global Green Beauty Awards. This is open to brands globally and there are no launch date restrictions. There are categories for brands and beauty products which are green, organic, natural, ethical, zero waste, cruelty free or made from key natural ingredients. Entries for the Global Green Awards are open now until July 15th.
