Official Press Release from Marina MiracleMARINA MIRACLE
NATURAL, ORGANIC, VEGAN, PROBIOTIC, CRUELTY-FREE SKINCARE MADE IN NORWAY UK LAUNCH - 21st June 2022 for Marina Miracle ''The world's best face oil and it's from Oslo! This is definitely a beauty product worth testing!'' - COSTUME Magazine says of our Herbal Face Oil, they also call our Argan Night Serum a “Miracle of the Night!" We live in a society that is more environmentally conscious than any generation before. We constantly hear the words ‘Organic, Natural, Vegan, Sustainable’ - often though, these words are used very loosely when it comes to some beauty products currently on the market. Many products contain synthetic chemicals, additives, and perfumes, which can be unwanted ingredients for some consumers and can be irritating to those with sensitive skin. That’s what really sets Marina Miracle apart from anything currently on the UK market. We can honestly say the following statement: Marina Miracle is Scandinavian Skincare at its finest: Natural, Organic, Vegan, Probiotic, Eco Friendly and Cruelty-Free. All ingredients we use are plant-based, renewable and degradable. We do not use microplastics, nano-ingredients or any synthetic ingredients that influence the planet or health in a negative way. As a company, we are proud of our high environmental and sustainability standards, and we have been Green Dot members since 2018. All our products are vegan and cruelty-free; we do not use animal-derived ingredients of any kind, and we never use ingredients that have been tested on animals. We are proud to say that our brand is approved by the official Green List of Dyrevernet (Animal protection in Norway). The company founder, Marina Elisabeth Engervik, was born with atopic eczema and she tells her story: ''The eczema got so bad that I was hospitalized at only 4 years old. And as a teenager and young adult I struggled a lot with acne, sensitive and irritated skin. I tried different treatments and products, but I could not find anything that kept my skin in a healthy balance. I realized that I had to solve this myself. After personal study of formulation processes, skin science and ingredients, I was equipped to formulate a facial oil. And my skin finally became healthy and balanced. I perfected the formula and shared the product with friends and family with different types of skin problems and everyone saw improvement in their skin. The good news spread quickly, and people started to ask for the ''miracle oil'', that's why I named the brand ‘Marina Miracle’”. Since then, Marina Miracle has been a firm favourite amongst customers, beauty bloggers and skincare professionals throughout Scandinavia and Europe. At long last the products will be available to the UK market from 21st June 2022. We've won over 50 other international Beauty awards. We are a small, close-knit family at Marina Miracle with under 20 employees worldwide, but for a small brand, we’re making a big impact! In 2022, Vogue Scandinavia included us in a recent article entitled “14 female-founded Scandinavian beauty brands to know”. General availability through our website: marinamiracle.co.uk Press contact and retailer enquiries: Olivia Shaw hello-uk@marinamiracle.com – 07849 893618

Hi everyone,
In the past couple of blogs we’ve looked in a bit more detail at some of last year’s winners at the 2021 Scandinavia Global Makeup Awards. Today, I’m going to focus on some of the winners in brand categories, as opposed to product categories. These look at the brand as a whole and are among the most prestigious of our awards. The first winner we’re going to look at is Rosenserien who walked away as BEST ORGANIC BEAUTY BRAND GOLD WINNER. Rosenserien was founded around 40 years ago when co-founder Laine Nilsson, who at the time was working as a hairdresser, realised that some of the chemicals and ingredients in the products she was using were having a negative effect on her skin. After conducting a great deal of research around natural alternatives, and collaborating with local chemists, in 1984 the first products went on the market. Today, Laine’s daughter Carina Swartz is in charge of the brand, continuing her mother’s mission and leading Rosenerien to a series of awards including as one of Sweden's ”Super Companies” 2010 and 2011. Next we have BEST SCANDINAVIAN BEAUTY BRAND GOLD WINNER - Zenz Organic. This Danish company takes great pride in their expertise as professional hairdressers and believe this makes them the ideal people to create products for other professional hairdressers. The team are passionate about creating natural and healthy products. They also have an impressive desire to work in a sustainable way and incorporate this into their everyday strategies. Their philosophy is to be at the forefront of sustainable beauty and to always be part of the solution and never the problem! Inspirational! Another big success in the BEST SCANDINAVIAN BEAUTY BRAND category was Fiini Naturally. This wonderful Finnish company is the result of a beautiful friendship that began 20 years ago while the co-founders Heidi and Essi were still in high school. The two definitely have some kind of strong connection; their lives followed similar patterns and shared similar interests and passions. Something else they both share is that they have sensitive skin and had trouble finding skincare products that worked for them. Living in Finland, which is full of wildlife and has some of the cleanest air in the world, they were in the right place to combine their passion for nature and clean beauty to create a fantastic brand which is kind to sensitive skin and environmentally-friendly. They proudly use Finnish raw ingredients as much as possible, take special care that their packaging is also ecologically responsible and prefer to test new products on their own skin before bringing them to the market, absolutely no animal testing is involved! Well, that brings me to the end of another blog. Once again I’ve really enjoyed delving into the stories behind the brands, always so interesting and inspiring! I’ll be back very soon with a new blog which will focus on the classic brands which successfully-entered and won in the 2021 Scandinavia Global Makeup Awards. Ciao for now! Dan NIOD, Swati Cosmetics and Mantle - some winners from the 2021 Scandinavia Global Makeup Awards2/3/2022 Gold Winners from the 2021 Scandinavia Global Makeup Awards - NIOD, Swati Cosmetics and MantleHi,
I enjoyed writing the last blog so much that I started this one right after finishing it. Today we’ll look a bit more at brands which were successful at the 2021 Scandinavia Global Makeup Awards. As you may have guessed from the last blog, I really enjoy learning about the stories behind the brands and understanding what motivated them to start their own business, no mean feat, and try to enter an already crowded and competitive market! The three companies I’m looking at today all have their own unique stories to share and learning about them really helps me to understand the passion and the people behind the products that we use every day! So, with that said, I bet you can’t wait to see what these stories are so I won’t waste any more time! GOLD WINNER for BEST INNOVATIVE PRODUCT was NIOD for their Copper Amino Isolate Serum 3 1:1 NIOD (Non-Invasive Options in Dermal Science) say that they have one goal “to be at the very edge of science). Founder, Brandon Truaxe” also states that the company is not influenced by trends but strives to always be at the forefront of new discoveries and technologies, with a commitment to a client base that are inspired by quality and innovation rather than marketing or price. NIOD is part of the Deciem Brand which has a partnership with The Estee Laude Companies. Brandon posted a very interesting open letter detailing the background of the partnership, a real insight into how important the company’s values are to him (and co-founder Nicola Kilner). Let’s now take a look at the EDITORS CHOICE GOLD WINNER which was Mantle with their fantastic Dream Mask. Co-founder Josefin Landgård was experiencing a difficult time during her personal and professional life before starting Mantle. Suffering from a lack of sleep and an extended period of stress as well as looking after her family, it must have been a really tough period for her until she discovered the health and skin benefits of CBD and met her co-founder Stina Lönnkvist. This really turned things around for her and Mantel are now a well recognised and respected company and were favourites of our judges who eagerly chose them as their Editors Choice winners! Finally, we have Swati Cosmetics who were the BEST VEGAN BEAUTY BRAND GOLD WINNERS. Swati proudly share the beautiful story of how two people falling in love led to the creation of this excellent brand! Swedish entrepreneur Vishal Nanda met Indian Make-Up artist Swati Verma and they quickly fell for each other! Vishal was mesmerised by how she managed to change her look until learning that the secret was her coloured contact lenses. This lightbulb moment and dream team partnership resulted in the launch of Swati Cosmetics in February 2019, a new beauty brand which celebrates diversity, inclusivity and fun! Well, I think you’ll agree that those are three really unique stories behind the winning brands. It’s really great to know just how much creating the best possible products means to the people working on them and it's wonderful that we get to appreciate and recognise their effort with the Scandinavia Global Makeup Awards. Thanks for joining me on this little trip, I’ll be back very soon but until then… Ciao for now! Dan Entries open for the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards - lets see some of last year's winners5/7/2021 Hi everyone,
Welcome to another blog from us at the Global Makeup Awards and the Global Green Beauty Awards. Entries are currently open for the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards and we are feeling nostalgic about all of last year's incredible green and clean beauty brands who entered last year's awards. So, today we’d like again to shine a spotlight on some of last year’s Global Green Beauty Awards winners for their green beauty products from 2020. Last time I mentioned that Deardot were joint Gold winners for Best Ethical Beauty Products in the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards. Let’s look at their story and how they strive to make a positive difference with their company. Based in Korea, Deardot aims to produce vegan-friendly, minimalist and environmentally-friendly skincare products. The company is famous for their dedication to preserving the dangyuja fruit, a rare citrus fruit which only grows on Jeju Island, a province of South Korea Deardot use beautiful yet environmentally friendly packaging for all their products, using eco-friendly cardboard which resemble vintage cardboard boxes, they really are a stylish way to present their skincare products. Furthermore, Deardot’s sparkling clean powder is packaged in biodegradable material which fully decomposes within six months. Another company which fared well in last year’s 2020 Green Global Beauty Awards was the fantastic bareMinerals. They went home with the following awards: BEST VEGAN MAKEUP PRODUCT GOLD WINNER bareMinerals Original Foundation SPF15 BEST VEGAN SKINCARE PRODUCT SILVER WINNER bareMinerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Serum Founded in 1995, bareMinerals has shown a strong commitment to clean beauty and ethically created makeup and skincare products from the very beginning. They are careful to avoid strong chemicals and any unnecessary additives, instead sourcing their ingredients from natural minerals and botanical extracts. They are proudly 100% cruelty free and boast a collection of 100% vegan beauty cleansers, moisturisers and treatments Monpure won two gold awards at last years green beauty awards - BEST VEGAN HAIR PRODUCT GOLD WINNER - Monpure London Nourish and Stimulate Scalp Mask BEST SUSTAINABLE HAIR PRODUCT GOLD WINNER - Monpure London Clarifying Scalp Scrub Monpure have not only identified poor scalp care as being a cause of unhealthy hair but they’ve also created the perfect products for gently and kindly treating the scalp, all the while maintaining a focus on ethically sourced , natural ingredients and eco-friendly packaging. They are careful to avoid sulphates, silicone and other harsh ingredients while demonstrating a consistently vegan-friendly and cruelty free approach to all their processes. Not only that, they also fussily hand-pick only suppliers who match their own high ethical standards. So, as you can see, it's really exciting for us to be able to promote the work of these previous winners .Their dedication to clean beauty and green beauty products really is an inspiration. If you know any companies who also show a strong commitment to green beauty, please do let them know that entries for the Global Green Beauty Awards 2021 close May 30th 2021. Thanks again for joining us for a closer look at last year’s winners. We can’t wait to repeat the fun we had last year and are looking forward to a future where all companies take the lead from our winners and devote themselves as much to the planet as they do their products! We currently have entries open for the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards. So if you are a green and clean beauty brand why not enter this year. Ciao for now, Dan, from The Green Global Makeup Awards & Global Green Beauty Awards social media team :) It's the final countdown! Entries for the UK 2021 Global Makeup Awards close in 5 days, on 15th March 2021.
It has been a whopping 3 months since the awards opened on the 1st January 2021. Trying to organise so many amazing entries alongside Brexit and the Global Pandemic have made this year's awards one to remember. There have been a fair share of logistical difficulties with couriers the last few months, but not a challenge we can't handle! We have seen an astonishing number of entries, and the bell hasn't chimed yet - we still have a huge 5 more days to see the entries pour in. There have been so many new brands back this year, after multiple years and awards of entry. We adore seeing so much brand loyalty, and we recognise and appreciate all the brands who come back year after year to our beauty awards. We also have seen a huge number of new beauty brands! As our UK 2021 Global Makeup Awards celebrates the best in new launches, it is great to see lots of start-ups showcasing their new beauty products. With categories not just in makeup, but also in skincare, hair care, body care and hygiene, we are seeing a record number of entries. There is still time to enter though, with 5 days to get your entry in. There is nothing like a last minute entry and we look forward to seeing the final push this weekend! In fact, we are dying to see what the last minute entries are! The global pandemic has changed consumer habits, and we are seeing a bigger focus on health and wellbeing, skincare, hair care and anything which is DIY at home beauty! As soon as the UK 2021 Global Makeup Awards close, we are delighted to announce, that for its second year the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards will launch straight after! This is for greener and cleaner brands with no launch date restrictions. In fact we look forward to telling you about these green beauty awards in the upcoming blogs. Many brands want to showcase their ethical ethos and we are so proud to have an award which recognises this shift towards being more eco-conscious and responsible. We look forward to announcing the winners in Global Makeup Magazine at the end of April. Speak soon beauty lovers! The GMA team x Wow. It's been an exhilarating start to the year with our UK Beauty Awards. As part of a Global beauty awards group, we work through the year providing the following 5 awards:
UK Global Makeup Awards (our local beauty awards for new trends.) ASIA Global Makeup Awards (perfect for the Asian beauty award market, and also includes New Zealand and Australia beauty awards.) USA Global Makeup Awards (for the American Beauty Award market - a very interesting concept as USA Beauty Awards is not such a recognised concept compared to the other geographical markets - especially the UK where Beauty Awards are huge!) Scandinavia Global Makeup Awards and last but not least, the Global Green Beauty Awards (our biggest green and clean beauty awards which opens from mid March.) The 2021 UK Global Makeup Awards is drawing to a close with entries closing in two weeks, on 15th March 2021. Immediately after, the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards open. It has been exhilarating for the UK market, as after the success of last year, which was our biggest year to date, who knew what the future would hold for 2021 which sees the UK reeling from the effects of its biggest recesion to date due to the coronavirus outbreak. The beauty industry was particularly hard hit, as the high street was closed, and with many people who had lost their jobs, there was less to spend on high end beauty items. On the other hand, self-care has never been so important - and home hair kits and home spa products have seen a rise. Our beauty predictions for 2021 from what we've seen so far is a leap towards more affordable and more eco beauty goods that you can use at home. Unfortunately, we've also seen a lot of famous beauty houses collapse. Victoria Beckham Beauty has closed its London store. Other colour cosmetics brands have taken a hit, as with social venues and work places being closed people just don't need it. Overwhelmingly, we have seen an increased demand for skincare haircare, wellness and of course sanitization. We have seen many beauty brands bring out hand sanitisers and hand creams and soaps in a reaction against the COVID19 pandemic. In fact at the start of the pandemic, you couldn't find hand soap or hand sanitiser for love nor money in any supermarket or pharmacy. OUr UK 2021 Global Makeup Awards responded to this with the following new categories: Best New Health and Wellness Product Best New Hand Cream Best Soap Bar Best Liquid Soap Best Hand Sanitiser After a year of meticulously washing and scrubbing our hands - we are all desperate for new finds in these categories which look after our hands and care for them. All of your beauty predictions with be proven (or otherwise!) in our winners list in April's Global Makeup Magazine. There are still two weeks left to enter our UK beauty awards, and if you have an ASIAN beauty brand you can enter our Asia beauty Awards the 2021 ASIA Global Makeup Awards until April. Speak soon the GMA team Hello beauty lovers,
Boy oh boy are we glad it's February. We can see the daffodils and crocuses peaking out, and it seems slowly but surely that Spring is on its way. Well, in between the snow storms, rain and I think tonight it's going to hit -7 degrees. However, I'm hopeful that there are warmer days around the corner. Between being a working mum and organising these awards, the bad weather has truly made it more of a challenge with this bad weather. And with Spring, comes the announcement of the UK 2021 Global Makeup Awards. This is our biggest local beauty awards of the year out of our regions for UK, Asia, Scandinavia and USA. The UK is a truly special market when it comes to beauty awards, as consumers look to awards to find the best of the best in the hottest new makeup and cosmetics trends. These awards aren't just for makeup though, they cover skincare, body care, hair care and of course the brand categories which look into Vegan, the packaging and Natural brands. Over the years we have seen an array of brands enter - from huge brands like L'Occitane, Boots, FOREO, Mary Kay, Avon, Nu Skin, REN Skincare, to Liz Earle and their super famous hot cloth cleanser. (Which incidentally won gold in the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards.) Honestly - after the last 12 months we've had, I'm not quite sure what to expect in this year's awards. But I am predicting more hygiene entries - more shower gels, hand gels and soaps and more hand creams. With the cold weather and all the washing of hands, I think people want to use better quality products that not only look after their hands and keep them from being dry but also that clean properly. When it comes to bath and shower products, I think people will just be wanting a good luscious pamper. Lastly - for makeup and cosmetics - of course eyes are all important. As are in-home beauty treatments like face masks, tweezers and fake lashes you can apply yourself. Entries for the UK 2021 Global Makeup Awards close on 15th March. You've got to be in it to win it! So if you are a beauty brand - why not enter this years beauty awards and celebrate your amazing new beauty products. We all need a pick me up at the moment - and the consumers in the UK want to find out which products has been voted the best by a panel of experts. Lots of love Dominique Editor of the Global Makeup Awards If you want to see confirmation of the old adage that two heads are better than one, look no further than the story of FIINI skincare products. 20 years ago two young girls made friends at High School. Their common ideology became more and more entwined as they matured and had families and homes of their own. At the root of their shared passions was a belief in all things natural ranging from handicrafts to nature and animals.
In the search for finding a skin care solution suitable for sensitive skin these two passionate women created their own skin care range. Heidi had always used natural products in the care of her animals using long passed down family recipes. Essi was searching for the perfect combination of local products for her sensitive skin and thus was born their own skincare range. The resulting oat and honey cream is one of the company’s best sellers and the forerunner of the many products they now offer. The ethos of staying close to nature as their approach to family life. Their products are biodegradable and are in harmony with their environment. The women promise honesty and naturalness. All the oils and fats used in their cosmetics are cold pressed and unpurified. All raw ingredients are natural. No industrial preservations, additives, perfumes or colourants are used. All the creams and liquids are packaged in recyclable aluminium and glass containers. Given their love of animals, animal welfare is just as important. No product testing on animals here. So let's take a look at the products this company has put forward to Global Make Up Awards in the category of .... First product we have been testing Is FIINI Oat Sea Buckthorne Oil Serum. Not just a moisturiser but also helps inflammation and reddening. The oat content stimulates the skin’s metabolism, increases elasticity and stimulates collagen production. Ingredients include beta carotene, vitamins A, C and E, plus Omegas 3, 6 and 9 which promotes skin renewal. It can also be used in lightening the appearance of liver spots. We are also testing another of their droppers, the blackcurrant face oil particularly formulated for oily and combination skin. Ingredients include Jojoba, blackcurrant seed oil and rosemary. Another of their products with blackcurrant is is their Balm to Milk Cleanser with Blackcurrant. This syrupy looking product literally changes shape and form with the addition of water and rubs into the skin with a milk consistency. Finally we are testing their 50 ml tin of shea butter. Great for the handbag or pocket when you go out on a chill day. Shea butter has been used as a cosmetic ingredient for centuries and is particularly effective for acne, cell regeneration and burns. Great for protecting your lips ain’t the cold weather and moisturising when sitting in central heating. Fiini Naturally won multiple awards in the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards - you can read all of the winner's here on our past winners page. Judges were wowed by the ethics behind the brand, the simple natural ingredients and also their dedication to sustainable packaging. In fact, did you know all of their beauty products are packaged in recyclable glass or metal jars and their cardboard boxes are made of recycled cardboard. To ensure ecological logistics further commit to sourcing their ingredients in large batches and without plastic wrapping. Don’t let’s be coy. Our V area needs as much love and attention as our faces. Being a delicate area, often with sensitive skin, it is important to use products specially designed for 'down there'! And our team are loving THE PERFECT V product range which also happens to have been a winner in the 2019 Scandinavian Global Makeup Awards.
