2023 Global Green Beauty Awards will open on 26th AprilWe are delighted to announce that the fourth edition of the Global Green Beauty Awards will be open for entries from the 26th April 2023. This is our largest beauty awards and reflects our shift towards greener and cleaner beauty products. Brands enter from all over the world, and there are no launch date restrictions.
Indeed - there are categories for green packaging - for example zero waste, bio-degradable, re-usable, glass or aluminium. Many categories for natural beauty products to reflect every beauty product to find which products contain natural ingredients. We also have organic, vegan and ethical categories. What's new this year? We've looked more into our personal happiness and therefore wellness products are at the forefront this year. We are looking into what 'green' tools can help us feel healthier and happier. We realise that not every brand can tick every box - so by categorising it into different green categories, we hope each brand will reflect their own eco ethos and help them demonstrate their green credentials in whichever direction they have chosen to follow. All winning brands will be be featured in our online magazine and every winner will also receive a printed certificate. Entries open on the 26th and we look forward to seeing you enter this year!

Hi everyone!
As I’ve mentioned a few times before, I really enjoy working on the Global Green Beauty Awards and I can’t wait for this year’s! In my last blog I talked about four silver winners from last year’s awards. Today, I want to continue on this theme, writing a little more about those previous winners. Provacan were Silver Winners for Best Salt Based Products with their CBD Bath Salts 100mg. Founded by Clifton Flack who moved from the UK to Israel in 2005 where he swiftly became recognised as an expert in consumer and corporate marketing. He became particularly interested in CBD as an ingredient and applied his ability to really listen and react to customer feedback to develop Provacan into an industry leading brand with a reputation for customer responsiveness. They take great pride in their transparency and their science led process which ensures that all their ingredients are independently lab-tested to make sure they are from the highest-grade certified organic EU hemp. Another of my favourites is the MOST INNOVATIVE 'GREEN' PRODUCT GOLD WINNER which went to The Cheeky Panda with their marvallous Biodegradable Bamboo Facial Wipes. First of all, these guys have the cutest little logo featuring, unsurprisingly, a cheeky little panda! These guys understand how by using toiletries responsibly we can also reduce our impact on the environment and how bamboo is an ideal resource for making an important difference! If you still need convincing, these guys have some numbers to back up their claims! By using bamboo we will use 65% less carbon emissions than by using tree based products. Bamboo also releases 35% more oxygen, and absorbs 30% more carbon than trees. BRONZE WINNER from the same category was awarded to The Soap Loaf Company for their Cosmeti-Craft Solid Deodorant Crafting Kit. These guys are really exciting because they offer the unique opportunity to go into their workshops at any time during opening hours and make your own bath bomb, scrubs, body butters, moisturiser, lip balm, solid deodorant, solid perfume, foot lotion, shower fizzers and shampoo bars. They have tutorials available in the workshops and also take bookings for groups and parties! How fun! The company is also committed to running an environmentally friendly business and uses 100% recycled packaging as well as re-using and recycling all the plastics and other materials which arrive from suppliers. Those were three very different companies and products, all three had their own distinct styles yet they were all winners at the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards in recognition of not only their super products but also their dedication to clean beauty and the steps they made towards making their businesses and clean as possible while demonstrating a commitment to continual improvement! Thank you again for joining me today! It’s really great to be able to share the stories of winners with you and learn more about the inner workings of the companies which enter the awards! I’ll be back again soon with a focus on some more of my favourite brands! Until then… Ciao for now! Dan Graydon Skincare, The Humble Co. and Juice Beauty - winners in the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards with their incredible bamboo productsHi again everyone! I hope you are good and September is going well! Personally, I’m always a bit sad about the end of summer but sometimes September can be a really great month with good weather and smaller crowds! Here in Italy the weather has been really good and it's still warm enough to eat outside yet cool enough to sleep at night. Thank goodness! In the last blog we explored the stories behind some of the winners from the last Global Green Beauty Awards, specifically those with hemp as an ingredient! In today’s blog I want to take a better look at the winners of the Best Bamboo Product category, a new category within our Green Beauty Awards. Let’s begin with the Gold Winner which was Graydon Skincare with their Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Sponge. This product is 100% vegan and 100% biodegradable. It becomes jelly like when wet, but when dry, it shrinks in size ready for the next use. Made with 100% biodegradable konjac plant fiber and bamboo charcoal, this sponge is the ultimate tool to detoxify pores, smooth your skin and thoroughly cleanse your face. This product was a truly brilliant entry in the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards and was a well deserved winner. Bamboo is one of those miracle ingredients which can be used so many ways in the beauty industry. This Canadian company has been going for about nine years and founder Graydon Moffat featured last month on City TV Breakfast television (see here). Interviewed in her immaculate kitchen, Graydon explained how her previous experience as a yoga instructor and a vegan chef as well as her holistic approach feeds into her philosophy behind her skincare business. During the TV interview Graydon explains that her mission is to give people the chance to have a good skin day every day through products with simple, natural ingredients and to play a part in people all over the world feeling good about themselves! I love how simply and sincerely she states that and it’s clear that she loves her work! Additionally, the website proudly declares their ingredients to be dermatologist and clinically tested, hypoallergenic, non-irritating, vegan as well as cruelty-free. Silver winner was The Humble Co. for their Interdental Brush / Bamboo. Established in 2013 by dentist Noel Abdayem and based in Sweden they follow the typical Scandinavian model which loves simplicity and efficiency. Inspired by a trip to Jamaica where he did voluntary work, Noah returned and set up the company which boasts products in over 40,000 stores and clinics worldwide. It’s not surprising that they are so popular as the oceans are filled with old plastic toothbrushes (every single year we go through 10 billion plastical oral care products). It's clear that there is not only a demand but an absolute necessity for The Humble Co. to continue with its fight to give us high quality oral care in an environmentally friendly way! Bronze winner was the super Juice Beauty for their Bamboo Pore Refining Mask. We loved this mask as it keeps help spots at bay. It contains bamboo charcoal & kaolin clay to help detox; Aspen bark to help smooth & hydrate, and exfoliating polyhydroxy acids for a softer, smoother complexion. Founder Karen Behnke already had a wealth of experience as an entrepreneur in the wellness industry but her pregnancy at 40 and the changes in her hormonal balance inspired her to develop a skincare product which would work for others like her who are concerned that our skin absorbs the products we use on it and wanted effective solutions which were not harmful to the body or the environment. Her goal was not just to provide products that were as good as conventional options, but actually better. Consequently she spent five years working with scientists to explore complex organic formulations. Juice Beauty was founded in 2005 and is Vegan, Cruelty Free, Sustainable and they use Certified Organic Ingredients. So, thanks for joining me for a closer look at the newest category for our 2021 Green Beauty Awards and at this year’s winners! I’ll be back soon to delve deeper into the stories behind more of our winners. Ciao for now! Dan Hey everyone!
Just a super quick update for those who haven't yet entered. The 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards close on 30th May, so you have until the end of this month to enter. These awards celebrate the best in green and clean beauty. You'll see a range of categories such as for ethical, organic, natural or vegan beauty products. There is something for every beauty brand - from makeup to skincare, haircare to body care. We also have some fun ingredients based categories such as best 'honey' product or best 'charcoal' product. Answers to some common FAQs which have been coming in. There are no launch date requirements - this means the product doesn't have to be a new launch. This helps to keep things ethical as a brand can keep to one product and marketing materials. We require 6 x product samples - these can be miniatures. If coming from outside of UK we ask you to put that these are PR samples as Brexit has caused a bit of chaos with shipping from outside of UK since January! We don't require official certification. This as it can be expensive for smaller brands to provide and we want this green beauty awards to be accessible to beauty brands - big and small. Saying that - though we don't ask for official certification you can 1) absolutely show it if you have it 2) do ask you to enter categories you genuinely believe are relevant. What does 'ethical' mean as a category? This is open to your interpretation. It needs to be green and clean - maybe low waste, or zero miles, or with a village kick-back scheme to help smaller communities. Maybe it is low carbon or maybe you re-plant trees in order to offset emissions. In other news, our inaugural ASIA 2021 Global Makeup Awards will be announced this Thursday! We are so excited about celebrating Asian and Australian and New Zealand Beauty awards winners. Stay tuned! Best wishes the Global Green Beauty Awards team x Entries open for the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards - lets see some of last year's winners5/7/2021 Hi everyone,
Welcome to another blog from us at the Global Makeup Awards and the Global Green Beauty Awards. Entries are currently open for the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards and we are feeling nostalgic about all of last year's incredible green and clean beauty brands who entered last year's awards. So, today we’d like again to shine a spotlight on some of last year’s Global Green Beauty Awards winners for their green beauty products from 2020. Last time I mentioned that Deardot were joint Gold winners for Best Ethical Beauty Products in the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards. Let’s look at their story and how they strive to make a positive difference with their company. Based in Korea, Deardot aims to produce vegan-friendly, minimalist and environmentally-friendly skincare products. The company is famous for their dedication to preserving the dangyuja fruit, a rare citrus fruit which only grows on Jeju Island, a province of South Korea Deardot use beautiful yet environmentally friendly packaging for all their products, using eco-friendly cardboard which resemble vintage cardboard boxes, they really are a stylish way to present their skincare products. Furthermore, Deardot’s sparkling clean powder is packaged in biodegradable material which fully decomposes within six months. Another company which fared well in last year’s 2020 Green Global Beauty Awards was the fantastic bareMinerals. They went home with the following awards: BEST VEGAN MAKEUP PRODUCT GOLD WINNER bareMinerals Original Foundation SPF15 BEST VEGAN SKINCARE PRODUCT SILVER WINNER bareMinerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Serum Founded in 1995, bareMinerals has shown a strong commitment to clean beauty and ethically created makeup and skincare products from the very beginning. They are careful to avoid strong chemicals and any unnecessary additives, instead sourcing their ingredients from natural minerals and botanical extracts. They are proudly 100% cruelty free and boast a collection of 100% vegan beauty cleansers, moisturisers and treatments Monpure won two gold awards at last years green beauty awards - BEST VEGAN HAIR PRODUCT GOLD WINNER - Monpure London Nourish and Stimulate Scalp Mask BEST SUSTAINABLE HAIR PRODUCT GOLD WINNER - Monpure London Clarifying Scalp Scrub Monpure have not only identified poor scalp care as being a cause of unhealthy hair but they’ve also created the perfect products for gently and kindly treating the scalp, all the while maintaining a focus on ethically sourced , natural ingredients and eco-friendly packaging. They are careful to avoid sulphates, silicone and other harsh ingredients while demonstrating a consistently vegan-friendly and cruelty free approach to all their processes. Not only that, they also fussily hand-pick only suppliers who match their own high ethical standards. So, as you can see, it's really exciting for us to be able to promote the work of these previous winners .Their dedication to clean beauty and green beauty products really is an inspiration. If you know any companies who also show a strong commitment to green beauty, please do let them know that entries for the Global Green Beauty Awards 2021 close May 30th 2021. Thanks again for joining us for a closer look at last year’s winners. We can’t wait to repeat the fun we had last year and are looking forward to a future where all companies take the lead from our winners and devote themselves as much to the planet as they do their products! We currently have entries open for the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards. So if you are a green and clean beauty brand why not enter this year. We have categories in this beauty awards for green beauty, organic beauty, natural beauty, plastic free beauty and ethical beauty. Ciao for now, Dan, from The Green Global Makeup Awards & Global Green Beauty Awards social media team :) Global Green Beauty Awards Open Monday 15th March
Hi everybody! Big News! We are so excited to announce that the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards open on Monday 15th March! These awards are really close to our heart as they celebrate companies which make a genuine effort to create products which are friendly to the environment. I saw a Leonardo DiCaprio meme this morning and while I can’t find it again now, the point was that if we all make a difference each week with our behaviour and choices, we will significantly reduce the damage that is being done to our planet. I think this stuck with me because there are moments when shopping where it can be so easy to consciously set aside my own values (especially regarding packaging and ethically sound companies) because I am in a rush or I’m tempted by a special offer. However, I am determined this year to stick to my values 100% and support companies which are making a concerted effort to improve things for everybody! Of course, in addition to being good for the environment, green products inevitably end up being great for clean beauty too and are especially popular with people who have sensitive skin. Our favourite companies are very proud to use natural ingredients and go to great efforts to use them, even when it’s not always the easiest option. We love that commitment to clean beauty and are proud to give the recognition that it deserves. Ethical beauty and natural ingredients go together and as a consequence, buying green also leads to great results in our beauty regimes! So, if you would like to get involved and receive some recognition for your efforts while also helping customers to make an informed choice, go ahead and enter the 2021 global Green Beauty Awards - Entries close May 30th 2021. We will announce the winners on July 15th 2021!!! This is our second Global Green Beauty Awards! Last year was a lot of fun and we discovered so many new great companies with wonderful stories behind their ventures and products. We can’t wait to do it again and build on our existing relationships while creating new ones! Some of the categories which you’ll be able to enter include: Natural Vegan Plastic friendly Ethical Organic beauty products Furthermore, there are no launch date restrictions for products entered We don’t require product certification but brands need to genuinely believe their product fits the category and demonstrate an authentic approach to green values. Some great winners from last year were Weleda, Dome Beauty and Inika organic, Eco By Sonya Driver- You can see a full liist of last years winners here https://www.globalmakeupawards.com/2020-global-green-beauty-awards.html#/ So, as you can see there are so many reasons to apply! Apply now and don’t miss out. Naturally, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch! We are a small team devoted to running these awards and we’d be delighted to hear from you! Take care All of us at the Global Green Beauty Awards What have we taken away from 2020? Maybe that we are looking to pamper ourselves at home a bit more, and also that we are more aware of our health, wellbeing, body and environment. One product which takes all of that into account, is giving yourself a mini manicure at home with the green and clean brand called S'N'BIO. S’N’BIO’S mantra is one for all of us to remember. We’ve had some of their super nail varnishes on tests and believe us when we say we would have been full of praise for this company just reviewing their products without being aware of the scientific pluses to complement production . First, the product. S’N’Bio Natural Origin intense Gloss Lasting Wear varnish glides on the nail perfectly with each stroke. Some of us can hardly see our toes when applying and yet the end result was a perfectly even application. Top marks just for that. The colours are amazingly complementary, the gloss finish spot on. And it really lasts the course. So that’s the positives on the actual product but the production process really backs it up. One of our favourite shades is the taupe / mink natural shade that is very subtle. Another favourite is a bit more va va voom and is the ruby red shade. HOW IT'S GREEN AND CLEAN This plant based nail varnish is based on a vegan revolutionary formula combining the power of nature with an extremely rich long lasting nail colour. The natural composition is certified 85% vegetable origin ingredient. The double patented formula includes potato, corn, wheat, manioc, sugarcane and cotton. No damage to our nails or cuticles. They won silver in the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards for best Vegan Hand / Nail Product. The umbrella brand, Safe 'n' Beautiful has more than just S'N'Bio. In fact, we were so impressed by the product that we are going to order their Snails products for our own little Princesses. This is a range of products specifically formulated for use by little ones and also includes a range of beautiful little hair accessories. The packaging is going to be particularly alluring to young beauties. For us this company can do no wrong. Hello you beauties,
This December brings the last month of the whirlwind that has been 2020, and we are choosing to go out with a bang by announcing tomorrow our last beauty awards for the year: The 2020 Scandinavian Global Makeup Awards. In this beauty magazine, you can read all the winners for 2020. It is so much fun doing our makeup and beauty awards region by region. In this year's Scandinavia region, we see the hottest brands from the brassicaly cold Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. The Nordics opt for a cleaner, and more eco friendly type of beauty - with product packaging often being recyclable, and the products itself often organic, non toxic and also usually non harmful to the environment. The products themselves are usually of extremely high quality and they tend to prefer a more minimalistic approach to beauty. Less is more, and the Scandinavians tend to prefer less bottles over more. Packaging, like the number of beauty products in their cabinet, is scaled black. There is more monochrome, more simplicity and yet more style. There was a myriad of entries in this years 2020 Scandinavian Global Makeup Awards and we had so many notable winners. For Hair and Body brands such as Rosenserien, to Sweden Eco, Eleni & Chris and Zenz Organic to makeup brands such as IDUN Minerals and Karmameju's beautiful new BB suncreams. We were excited to welcome this year SkinChemists, Dr Botanicals and Esse to the skincare categories along side past winners such as Barr Sweden and FOREO (who have launched their incredible beauty gadgets BEAR and UFO2. Other notable winners are Icelandic luxury skincare brand Taramar - which uses algae at the forefront of their science. Primex Iceland - which uses Chitosan as its unique ingredient (sustainable prawn shells from the Atlantic Ocean). Marina Miracle showcased their incredible range, from their lash and eyebrow serum which was a winner in previous awards as well as showcasing their skincare range - we loved their sweet and creamy oil cleanser. Aiia was also a strong winner in this years awards with its high end skincare founded upon water based serums. Winners in our beauty awards receive an entry on our website, an image and text in our online magazine and a certificate. Brands can even choose to further promote their win with a perspex trophy. The 2021 Scandinavian Global Makeup Awards will return September 15th 2021. With over 300 entrants it's impossible to name them all in one post, but we hope you enjoy reading our favourites in Global Makeup Magazine. Who knows what next year will have in store for us and the world. We were so impressed with all the brands ability to go with the flow all with the backdrop of a global pandemic which impacted staff working from home, warehouse organisation and postage logistics. In the face of such uncertainty, we know next year will be bigger and brighter as we saw such an impressive range of products entered. Products that can provide that much needed pick-me-up for those who have had to close themselves up at home with lockdown after lockdown enforced. To all our readers - Thank You! We are so happy so many of you tune into Global Makeup Magazine, and we wish you the happiest of Christmas Holidays and New Years. The Global Makeup Awards commences again from January 1st, launching with our biggest region for the Global Makeup Awards and then followed shortly after by Global Green Beauty Awards - which celebrates all green beauty and eco beauty award winners. Wishing you a safe December Dominique Editor of Global Makeup Magazine Our beautiful UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards trophies have arrived!Good (early) morning everyone!
It's Dominique here from the Global Makeup Awards. Today I'm up too early....3.45am because the sun is just rising, it's one day after the summer solstice. That's not a regular habit of mine... more just being someone who once sees the sun is up, I can never get back to sleep again, anyone else like that? A little quick update with where we are with the awards. We currently have TWO awards open. We have both the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards open (a green beauty awards alternative) and the 2020 USA Global Makeup Awards open. (This is like the other Global Makeup Awards you know and love, but this time we've branched out into the fabulous American market, where the is so much beauty innovation and expertise. We are so excited to be launching in the USA and for our USA beauty awards to be taking on a whole other shape and dimension. Entries for the Global Green Beauty Award end July 15th, and for the USA Global Makeup Awards the entries close August 1st. We don't normally have two awards running at the same time, but as you all know coronavirus has wreaked havoc on schedules and timings so we have had to have had a little reshuffle! In other beauty related news, we have had delivery of our 2020 UK Global Makeup Awards trophies. They are so beautiful. We love our innovatively designed A6 perspex block beauty award trophies. They look so cute on a desk to celebrate a win or placed on a shelf. If you have just entered our Global Green Beauty Awards or the USA Global Makeup Awards and would like to order one like in the picture, just let us know. Why not try and collect one for each global region that we run our awards in, or one each year? They cost £150 for one trophy celebrating one win, but be sure to let us know soon as you win as we have a short order window. What do you receive when you win in our awards? We really do try to add value in our awards. Every winner in our beauty awards receives for free and entry in our Global Makeup Magazine, and for the moment that includes an image too. You also receive a paper certificate posted to your door and of course our iconic awards logo and a mention with back link on our website. But, if that's not enough for you and you would like something physical on your desk, then an additional perspex trophy is exactly what you are looking for. We also announce the winners in Diary Directory. Have you signed up to it yet? It is such an amazing beauty tool to find out what is going on in the beauty events calendar, and their daily email is really interesting. You'll also never miss out on our awards dates this way either! Will you ever run a gala? A gala for our beauty awards is something we are so keen to do. What better event is there for networking, socialising, having a good knees up and of course for finding out the winners to the beauty awards with a celebration gala. However, for the moment with the coronavirus pandemic we need to keep things safe. As soon as things return to pre-apocalypse (kidding! but you know what I mean) then it is definitely something we will put on the table. The sun is really coming up now and it's already time for another coffee. If you have received your UK Global Makeup Awards trophy please do send me a picture of it so I can feature on the website and social media. Our next UK awards isn't until January 2021 so let's keep the ball rolling and news about the 2020 awards hot hot hot! Peace and love Dominique x .Hi Everyone, We thought we would look into and explore what is happening to the beauty industry during the coronavirus pandemic. There's some pretty scary stats out there about the economy in general - four days ago the BBC reported that the economy has drunk a record 20.4% in April. The big question in our industry though is, how is the beauty and cosmetics industry being affected? Firstly - some products are not only on the up, but are spiralling into the stratospheres of success - bars of soap, liquid soap, hand sanitiser and disinfecting products. We have also seen beauty brands help out - one of our winner's in the UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards, the L'Occitane Group, has manufactured over 70,000 litres of hand sanitizer for health officials. As spas and salons have been forced to shut by government mandate (Treatwell is currently suspended), we have also seen a huge rise in home treatments. That includes home face masks, box hair dye kits and home hair removal kits. At this point we of course want to mention our favourite hair removal kit, and winner in the UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards - No Mo-Stache's No Mo-Unibrow. On the other hand, the beauty events calendar has been thrown into the air. Beauty Awards with galas have had to cancel the galas of course and stream them online or to announce them online. Beauty Expos such as Bologna's Cosmoprof has been postponed until next year and will be Spring 2021. People are also looking after themselves more in lockdown - we are seeing 40% of high income earners looking to actively manage their stress, including with at home spa treatments. Brands have been forced online, and have been selling through their website, facebook, Instagram and other online channels. Many, who haven't been able to adapt to selling online, have ceased business for months, It's not all doom and gloom for the beauty industry though. Euromonitor international predicts that the beauty sector, both luxury and non luxury, is set to fall by just 2% this year. It is a negative fall, but it could have been much worse. For example, comparatively, the luxury goods market will fall 18% this year globally. As a side note, Switzerland is seeing a fall of 25% for the luxury goods market, which is a whopping fall of 1 in 4. We are also expected to see an economic bounce back, and we are hoping some consumers have experimented with new beauty brands during lockdown. What is the Global Makeup Awards and Global Green Beauty Awards seeing within the beauty and cosmetics industry? In addition to the above - we thought you might want to see closer to home our own experiences and expectations for the beauty industry during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Of course we have seen business struggle with warehouse issues, particularly at the beginning of the outbreak when there were no organised ways to manage social distancing, but that now seems to almost have disappeared. People have more guidance and know how to work appropriately. We are also seeing people want to use marketing more than ever to promote their brands online. We have seen a monumental number of entries in the Global Green Beauty Awards. This awards is green and clean, and it seems the coronavirus outbreak has also led people to be more environmentally aware. This has been the perfect backdrop to enter the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards. Though we had to postpone Asia as a beauty awards which was due to launch, regrettably, during the Chinese coronavirus outbreak, as a whole the other regions haven't been affected and are going ahead as scheduled. As an online beauty awards and makeup awards, we are online only so thankfully we have not had to cancel any galas and therefore on a personal level haven't been too affected by the crisis. We hope everyone is slowly getting back to normal and looking forward to nominating their brands in our upcoming USA Global Makeup Awards (An American Beauty Award) and the Global Green Beauty Awards (an environmentally friendly green beauty award). Best wishes the GMA team xx |
