Global makeup awards and global green beauty awards makeup news flash, blog for the global makeup awards and global green beauty awards, news, cosmetics news, blog
At the moment, with COVID19, regional lockdowns, and the lack of ease we feel going to beauty salons, people are turning ever more to at home beauty treatments. In today's blog we will be looking at lockdown beauty regimes, and what we can do for a bit of self care while at home ourselves, and without breaking the bank! Here are our top hair masks and facial masks from some of our favorite brands from the Global Makeup Awards and the Global Green Beauty Awards. Biovène Oil Replacement, Hair Wrap Treatment Advertised as being a Hair Wrap Treatment + Oil Replacement Feature + Packed with the Wonders of Arian Extract, Moroccan Oil and Sodium Hyaluronate we were wondering if this Biovene product could really come up with these promises. It did. This handy sachet contains an immediate pick up for dry, damaged hair and did indeed leave it feeling healthier and glossier. We have already spoken about how much we adore the Biovène Shampoo Bars, and this hair wrap lived up to the name of the other products too. Such a small sachet with such a big punch! We loved it. Just opening the sachet revealed a really substantial cap containing the serum. Much stronger than the usual shower cap type it promised it was going to be a quality product. After washing hair and leaving in a towel dry condition we put the cap on, fastening it with a really good adhesive tab. Good start. Massage the product in and leave for another 20 minutes. Towel dry hair for some us meant hair that was impossible to brush through. After the treatment hair comes out that was easily combed! Amazing. After drying hair was left visibly in much better condition. Soft and smooth to the touch. Looks as though we are going to be in another Covid -19 wave. Make sure you get this product in your hair product box. It’s a definite great one for longer waits to get to the hairdresser. A professional finish for not a great deal of money - only 3.49 euros. Another must have October favourite from our Global Makeup Awards team was www.seoulistabeauty.com/collections/rosy-glow-primer/products/rosy-glow-primer SEOULISTA ROSY GLOW PRIMER Priming Mask infused with Bulgarian Rose Oil.
A five minute face mask that impressed us with ease of use, wake up feel, and beautiful softening and smoothing effect on the skin. So simple to place the mask in the correct place on the face with eyes, nose and mouth in the right place! Had perfect clinging effect on the skin With only a few bubbles to smooth out. Dermatologically created and tested and containing no silicone this very affordable product is definitely one to look out for. After five minutes skin felt fresh and invigorated. Sling was soft and glowing. We used some of the product left in the mask to apply as a further moisturiser just to make use of every drop of this lovely mask. The fragrance really resonant of the smell of old English roses. Beautiful. This product is just one of a much larger range of individual instant sachets for hand and body. Products range also includes a range of skin tools and we look forward to testing these too. Definitely one to put on the list, and at £5.50, a bargain you can't resist! We all need a bit of self love at the moment, and an at home mask is something you can indulge in without guilt.

I’m sorry. I just couldn’t stop myself from writing another In The Spotlight blog. I just love investigating more about the companies and people behind the great products which were winners in our beauty awards and make-up awards and I want everyone to know about them. It's wonderful looking through their Instagram pages, reading the company bios and I particularly enjoy read their blogs. Today I’ve highlighted 3 winners from the UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards which were held earlier this summer. BEST INNOVATIVE PRODUCT SILVER WINNER - Lusso Tan Bath Bomb The Summer Meadow Bath Bomb is loaded with essential oils carefully selected to heighten your senses, hydrate your skin and give it velvety smooth texture. Impressively, they will donate 47p to Mencap for every one of their Limited Edition bath Bomb’s purchased. I love their choice of charity and their commitment to improving the lives of others. They also write some super blogs. I especially enjoyed this one from last summer, which is very relevant now in the midst of this current heatwave - https://lussotan.com/blogs/news/holiday- tanning-myths BEST FRAGRANCE BRONZE WINNER - Missguided Babe Power I have to admit, in addition to having created a fantastic fragrance, I am also in love with the company and products names which left me curious and keen to know more about the company and people behind the product. The Missguided brand has a clear mission and that is to “empower females globally to be confident in themselves and be who they want to be”. This comes across clearly through the company branding which is exactly how they themselves describe it- bold, clear and forward-thinking. These guys at Missguided understand the current climate and have really captured the attitude of women towards modern life, including social media, street style and popular culture. Run by Nitin Passi, who previously had a successful career in the New York Fashion Industry, he set-up by himself in 2009 and has gone from strength to strength. Clearly running his own business suits him and he expresses himself wonderfully through the brand. Follow his adventures on Instagram - BEST FOUNDATION GOLD WINNER - Lily Lolo Founded in 2005 by Vikki Khan and named after her sisters, Lily Lolo is a British natural mineral makeup brand. Their first foundation product managed to achieve cult status in natural beauty circles and the company now has a wide range of products tailored towards customers who are looking for ethical, high quality products. In fact, their cream foundation won gold in the UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards are our judges fell in love with it too. Did you know that it is 100% vegan foundation and made with nourishing jojoba and argan oils? Using exclusively natural ingredients, the brand is inspired by the gift of difference and they create products for every type of woman, regardless of age, style or skin-type. In fact Lily Lolo are a cruelty-free brand, dedicated to remaining free from chemicals, parabens, perfumes or dyes. They are also proud to say that 90% of their beauty and makeup products are vegan-friendly. We hope you enjoyed reading a little more information about the winners from the UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards which ha da record breaking year in terms of entries. We had over 350 entries so the best of the best were picked and we love highlighting those winners in our In the Spotlight beauty blogs. Hello friends, My recent blogs showcasing some of our recent 2020 UK Global Makeup Awards winners have been pleasingly popular, I must say I love writing them! Today I would like to highlight some more wonderful companies which not only have super products deserving of beauty awards but also have such fascinating back-stories and positive contributions to our industry. BEST ANTI AGEING PRODUCT GOLD WINNER Manuka Doctor 24K Gold & Manuka Honey Face Oil Manuka Doctor was gold winner for best anti ageing product in the UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards. Manuka Doctor is a company with a firm foot still in its homeland among the fresh New Zealand mountains where their expert Bee Keepers source high-quality, quality authentic Mānuka Honey. The last few years has seen demand for the honey increase dramatically as more and more people become tuned-in its well-being properties. The origins of the company go all the way back to 1909 and the Manuka Doctor strives to keep their production techniques as clean and pure now as they were in the beginning. Their philosophy is to use the best ingredients from New Zealand and the remain a rare example of a New Zealand honey company which runs its private business in a fully integrated way. We loved this product because we could see an approved appearance of our skin, reduced wrinkles and improved skin radiance. It is 2020's must have beauty product. BEST BEAUTY TOOL GOLD WINNER Mary Kay Skinvigorate Sonic Skin Care System Mary Kay Mission – Enriching the lives of women and their families around the world. That’s a great mission statement! Furthermore, Mary Kay back it up by creating excellent products which really do have a positive effect on women and their families! Founded in 1963, Mary Kay’s original offer consisted of one foundation product along with four skincare products. By the late eighties they had banned animal testing and created a recycling programme. Soon after they achieved the impressive milestone of $1Billion wholesale sales. According to Instagram Mary Kay China has just celebrated its 25 th Birthday. The company’s standpoint on equality is inspirational and I absolutely love how they promote their beauty products from a feminist standpoint as well as vocally getting behind the recent #BLM movement. This is a company run by people who know who they are and what change they want to make in the world. Mary Kay’s huge success only underpins the notion that you don’t have to abandon your values to be successful. The Skinvigorate Sonic Skin Care System provides you with a cleaner, impurity free face in just 60 seconds. It was truly deserving of a gold win in the UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards. The Skinvigorate also removes 4 x more dirt, makeup and pollutants compared to just hand cleaning at home. This means you are left with super clean skin, that looks fresher and rejuvenated. It really is a must have cleanser, up there with LumiSpa and Foreo Luna 3 skincare cleansers. I’d love to tell you more about these brands but probably the best thing you can do is head over to their websites to find out more about their history, their products and their latest news. They are thoroughly deserving of their beauty awards and in this tough year so far, I definitely think any products that help us feel better and healthier are a great thing, By the way, here in Italy the weather is super-hot, just as it has been in the UK, and it is great to see
lots of German tourists have come back to Italy as soon as they could, to enjoy the food, culture and beautiful scenery. It’s a huge boost not only to the tourism sector but to everyone’s mood. Living in a ghost town started off like a novelty but it soon became quite draining! Also, thank you for all your entries in the Global Green Beauty Awards and the 2020 USA Global Makeup Awards - watch out for their entry deadlines closing in mid july and 1st of August respectively. Until next time! Dan Our beautiful UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards trophies have arrived!Good (early) morning everyone!
It's Dominique here from the Global Makeup Awards. Today I'm up too early....3.45am because the sun is just rising, it's one day after the summer solstice. That's not a regular habit of mine... more just being someone who once sees the sun is up, I can never get back to sleep again, anyone else like that? A little quick update with where we are with the awards. We currently have TWO awards open. We have both the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards open (a green beauty awards alternative) and the 2020 USA Global Makeup Awards open. (This is like the other Global Makeup Awards you know and love, but this time we've branched out into the fabulous American market, where the is so much beauty innovation and expertise. We are so excited to be launching in the USA and for our USA beauty awards to be taking on a whole other shape and dimension. Entries for the Global Green Beauty Award end July 15th, and for the USA Global Makeup Awards the entries close August 1st. We don't normally have two awards running at the same time, but as you all know coronavirus has wreaked havoc on schedules and timings so we have had to have had a little reshuffle! In other beauty related news, we have had delivery of our 2020 UK Global Makeup Awards trophies. They are so beautiful. We love our innovatively designed A6 perspex block beauty award trophies. They look so cute on a desk to celebrate a win or placed on a shelf. If you have just entered our Global Green Beauty Awards or the USA Global Makeup Awards and would like to order one like in the picture, just let us know. Why not try and collect one for each global region that we run our awards in, or one each year? They cost £150 for one trophy celebrating one win, but be sure to let us know soon as you win as we have a short order window. What do you receive when you win in our awards? We really do try to add value in our awards. Every winner in our beauty awards receives for free and entry in our Global Makeup Magazine, and for the moment that includes an image too. You also receive a paper certificate posted to your door and of course our iconic awards logo and a mention with back link on our website. But, if that's not enough for you and you would like something physical on your desk, then an additional perspex trophy is exactly what you are looking for. We also announce the winners in Diary Directory. Have you signed up to it yet? It is such an amazing beauty tool to find out what is going on in the beauty events calendar, and their daily email is really interesting. You'll also never miss out on our awards dates this way either! Will you ever run a gala? A gala for our beauty awards is something we are so keen to do. What better event is there for networking, socialising, having a good knees up and of course for finding out the winners to the beauty awards with a celebration gala. However, for the moment with the coronavirus pandemic we need to keep things safe. As soon as things return to pre-apocalypse (kidding! but you know what I mean) then it is definitely something we will put on the table. The sun is really coming up now and it's already time for another coffee. If you have received your UK Global Makeup Awards trophy please do send me a picture of it so I can feature on the website and social media. Our next UK awards isn't until January 2021 so let's keep the ball rolling and news about the 2020 awards hot hot hot! Peace and love Dominique x .Hi Everyone, We thought we would look into and explore what is happening to the beauty industry during the coronavirus pandemic. There's some pretty scary stats out there about the economy in general - four days ago the BBC reported that the economy has drunk a record 20.4% in April. The big question in our industry though is, how is the beauty and cosmetics industry being affected? Firstly - some products are not only on the up, but are spiralling into the stratospheres of success - bars of soap, liquid soap, hand sanitiser and disinfecting products. We have also seen beauty brands help out - one of our winner's in the UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards, the L'Occitane Group, has manufactured over 70,000 litres of hand sanitizer for health officials. As spas and salons have been forced to shut by government mandate (Treatwell is currently suspended), we have also seen a huge rise in home treatments. That includes home face masks, box hair dye kits and home hair removal kits. At this point we of course want to mention our favourite hair removal kit, and winner in the UK 2020 Global Makeup Awards - No Mo-Stache's No Mo-Unibrow. On the other hand, the beauty events calendar has been thrown into the air. Beauty Awards with galas have had to cancel the galas of course and stream them online or to announce them online. Beauty Expos such as Bologna's Cosmoprof has been postponed until next year and will be Spring 2021. People are also looking after themselves more in lockdown - we are seeing 40% of high income earners looking to actively manage their stress, including with at home spa treatments. Brands have been forced online, and have been selling through their website, facebook, Instagram and other online channels. Many, who haven't been able to adapt to selling online, have ceased business for months, It's not all doom and gloom for the beauty industry though. Euromonitor international predicts that the beauty sector, both luxury and non luxury, is set to fall by just 2% this year. It is a negative fall, but it could have been much worse. For example, comparatively, the luxury goods market will fall 18% this year globally. As a side note, Switzerland is seeing a fall of 25% for the luxury goods market, which is a whopping fall of 1 in 4. We are also expected to see an economic bounce back, and we are hoping some consumers have experimented with new beauty brands during lockdown. What is the Global Makeup Awards and Global Green Beauty Awards seeing within the beauty and cosmetics industry? In addition to the above - we thought you might want to see closer to home our own experiences and expectations for the beauty industry during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Of course we have seen business struggle with warehouse issues, particularly at the beginning of the outbreak when there were no organised ways to manage social distancing, but that now seems to almost have disappeared. People have more guidance and know how to work appropriately. We are also seeing people want to use marketing more than ever to promote their brands online. We have seen a monumental number of entries in the Global Green Beauty Awards. This awards is green and clean, and it seems the coronavirus outbreak has also led people to be more environmentally aware. This has been the perfect backdrop to enter the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards. Though we had to postpone Asia as a beauty awards which was due to launch, regrettably, during the Chinese coronavirus outbreak, as a whole the other regions haven't been affected and are going ahead as scheduled. As an online beauty awards and makeup awards, we are online only so thankfully we have not had to cancel any galas and therefore on a personal level haven't been too affected by the crisis. We hope everyone is slowly getting back to normal and looking forward to nominating their brands in our upcoming USA Global Makeup Awards (An American Beauty Award) and the Global Green Beauty Awards (an environmentally friendly green beauty award). Best wishes the GMA team xx You may have noticed that we have two awards running at once over here. Because of the global coronavirus pandemic, we've had to switch up our schedule and that means that ASIA has been postponed (we are expecting until the end of the year). This was when we thought the coronavirus was just something we were seeing to affect Asia and then little did we know it was something that would concern the global community. Rather than postpone the rest of our awards (we run 4-5 beauty awards each year) we have instead reshuffled our dates.
So that means we currently have both the USA Global Makeup Awards open as well as the 2020 Global Green Beauty Awards! It means things are a bit hectic in our work from home offices right now :) but we love the business and we are overwhelmed with all the entries we have been getting. So we thought we would provide a little update to those who follow the Global Makeup Awards. The Global Green Beauty Awards have been open for a few months now. It is open for all eco friendly beauty brands who are looking for green awards for their beauty products. There are no launch date restrictions and all companies globally can enter. We have seen entries from the UK, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, India, Iceland, Finland, Denmark and the USA so far. We are so proud of the global effort for beauty brands to move towards more environmentally friendly, natural organic and sustainable beauty products. In fact, at this point in time we have had over 150 entires and there is still another month to go so it has been a truly mammoth year for the Global Green Beauty Awards. We also have the USA 2020 Global Makeup Awards open. This has only just opened and is for all brands open in America, whether by post or for sale in the shops. We are seeing some amazing game changing brands from america and we are so excited that it is open as a region for itself. The USA has always been known for its innovation in the beauty field and we are so happy to have an awards especially dedicated to it! We are so glad that our awards recognised different regions globally as it gives consumers more of an opportunity to see what is available in their own country and outside it. The USA 2020 Global Makeup Awards will close for entries August 1st 2020. Best wishes The Global Makeup Awards Team x We are so delighted to announce that tomorrow the USA 2020 Global Makeup Awards opens!
We are so excited to make this awards truly global as through opening in the USA, the beauty hub of the world, we will be sure to see huge innovation in the beauty and cosmetics industry. The global makeup awards looks at new launches - so we are looking for beauty entries which have been launched after January 2018 and and are available to purchase in the USA. The global makeup awards is currently open in three regions - the UK, Scandinavia, and now also the USA. Winners receive a paper certificate, a mention in our online magazine Global Makeup Magazine and a link on our website. It costs £100 to enter the awards with one product and we require 6 product samples. Products are judged on their efficacy by the judges, so as long as the product is a game changing, great product, you have a chance of winning an award! You've got to be in it to win it though. And to win what we call a 'beauty oscar' - just click on the enter award page here. Categories are for makeup, skincare, haircare, bodycare and brand categories. We are looking at a wide range of beauty innovations so there is a category for everyone within the beauty industry. The deadline to enter is August 1st and winners will be announced on September 10th 2020. We look forward to seeing a host of new brands enter, especially ones which are only based in the USA. To enter the awards, your beauty brand has to be available to purchase in the USA, either in a shop or by post. Hi everyone. Dan here, firstly with a little update on life here in Italy and then with a quick spotlight on one of the victors after the recent announcement of the winners at the 2020 UK Global Makeup Awards. So, since we last met, lockdown measures have gradually eased here in the region of Lombardy. Lombardy is in the north of the country; it borders Switzerland and its two largest cities are Milan and Brescia. The word Lombardy is originally formed from Long and Beard, that’s pretty cool. I’m down in the Brescia region, among the stunning mountains at the popular holiday destination Lake Garda. Over the past week, shops and restaurants have gradually reopened, and once again there are people on the streets and visiting cafes. On Friday afternoon I had an appointment in the beautiful lakeside town of Salo, and there was a wonderful energy and atmosphere as friends re-connected with each other after nearly 3 months of isolation. Everyone seemed to respect social distancing and the police were helping restaurateurs to arrange their tables according to new regulations Personally, I’ve particularly enjoyed getting my paddleboard back out on the lake. The scenery here is beautiful but I don’t think any view of the area beats the view from when you are actually in or on the lake! In addition to getting out on the lake, our international team has been busy announcing the UK winners of the 2020 Global Makeup Awards. There were over 350 entries to our beauty awards and over the next few blogs, we’re excited to share more information and background on some of the winners. You can read our debuted new magazine "Global Makeup Magazine" showing the winner's showcase for the 2020 Global Makeup Awards here. Let’s start with the BEST CLEANSER GOLD WINNER. Beuti skincare prevailed in a competitive market to take home the gold award for their Pomegranate glow 3 in 1 enzyme cleanser & Phytoessence Biocosmetics Face Cleansing Oil, launched in 2015 by former aesthetician LEILA AALAM with the mission of providing high quality yet affordable beauty products free from unnecessary chemicals. Beuti products were an immediate hit and Kate Middleton even took care to include their products while packing her hospital bag as she prepared to give birth to little Louis -read the blog here: https://beutiskincare.com/the-duchess-of-cambridge-uses-elixir-whilst-giving-birth/ The Pomegranate glow 3 in 1 enzyme cleanser is a fantastic product which in addition to being an excellent cleanser, also functions as a facemask when left applied for 5-10 minutes. The fermented Pomegranate acts like a gentle glycolic acid which exfoliates and cleanses skin while rose clay while Copaiba Balsam soothes and protects against inflammation. Beuti were hugely deserving winners in this category of beauty awards despite facing a lot of competition from other high-quality brands. Do check out their website where you can order online and access a list of stockists throughout the UK, USA and Europe - https://beutiskincare.com/shop/ That’s all for now but please stay tuned for more spotlights on worthy winners from our most recent awards over the coming days and weeks.
